Get Ready for Some Solar Eclipse Fun in McAllen!

The first total eclipse in the continental U.S. in 38 years will occur on Monday, August 21st. The moon will cast a 70-mile shadow, meaning millions will witness it! While the best views of total darkness will be in Tennessee, South Carolina, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Wyoming, Idaho and Oregon, in McAllen, we’ll still have a partial view of this phenomenon!

A Viewing Party at the McAllen Nature Center

View 50% to 60% of the phenomenon at the McAllen Nature Center with a peak eclipse set for 1:13 PM. Limited solar glasses will be available for purchase but the event itself is free of charge. Feel free to bring water, snacks, a picnic lunch and blankets if desired. There will also be folding chairs. Kona Ice will be onsite with raspas for sale.

If the weather is cloudy, the event will be cancelled. For the latest information, click here.
