making the most out of taste mcallen

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Taste McAllen event is back this year with more food, drinks and fun! Scheduled for March 22nd from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the festival will once again be held outdoors at the McAllen Convention Center’s stunning Oval Park. With the best in cuisine and outdoor music, you won’t want to miss this event! Now, if it’s your first time, you might feel overwhelmed, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here are five tips for getting the most out of Taste McAllen!

5. Arrive Early

This event gets a little crazy because of its popularity. Arriving early has two perks; a better parking spot and avoiding all of the lines for ticket entry, food and drink sampling.

4. Head for the Drink Stations First

The lines for drinks can get long, and your favorite beverage might be out if you don’t take advantage of arriving early.

3. Grab Seconds and Thirds

We can all become insecure when sampling food, especially in front of other people. Feel free to indulge and sample your favorite food stations two or three times. Seriously, sometimes those delectable dishes can be too good not to retry.

2. Bring Cash

Last year, Taste McAllen sold awesome foodie shirts that had everyone raving, and you’re going to want to bring cash for this year’s surprise. You never know what you might encounter, so bringing cash is a safe bet that you won’t miss out on any souvenirs.

1. Prepare Your Appetite

This is the golden rule. Don’t dine out before the event; you’ll regret it. This gathering ensures that you’ll be tasting all of your favorite foods from all restaurants and bakeries, so prepare your appetite and be ready to mingle and sample!

Buy Your Tickets Today!

General admission tickets are $50 online and $60 at the door. Individual VIP tickets, which include early access, dedicated beer/wine service and access to the VIP area, are $100 online and at the door. Now, if you’re looking to splurge, a VIP table with eight chairs is also available for $1,000, which includes early access and dedicated beer/wine service.
