New Year's Eve
The City of McAllen plans to ring in 2012 with fireworks, confetti canons, a laser light show and a variety of live music at its annual downtown New Year's Eve Bash, December 31, 2011, from 7pm to midnight.
The free, family event will feature live music from salsa/merengue group ACHE, the country sounds of Marshall Law, rock music from In and Out and entertainment from latin rock headliner Del Castillo. The first band takes the stage, near the downtown parking garage, beginning at 7 pm.
Free park and ride shuttle service will be available on Metro McAllen. Party goers can board the buses from the McAllen Convention Center, off of Ware Road and Expressway 83, or the McAllen Civic Center, off of 10th Street and Expressway 83 and get dropped off near the event zone. Return service to the Convention Center and Civic Center is available throughout the evening, as well.
