In a realm where dragons, far-away lands and personal adventures reign supreme, the McAllen Public Library is celebrating the magical world of books at its annual McAllen Book Festival! The event connects readers of all ages with authors, performers and publishers, and allows children and teens the chance to experience the wonder of books and more at this completely FREE event on Saturday, November 11th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
More Than a Book Fair
Listed in “Top 10 Texas Bookish Destinations,” the McAllen Public Library knows that books are essential to learning, which is why it’s grown this event into much more than a giant book fair. The event is scheduled to feature 20 authors and special guests! It will also have craft vendors, activities, live music and so many other surprises!

Dedicated to Literacy
The festival is the premier celebration of children and teen literacy in the Rio Grande Valley and hopes to bring readers of all ages together. By promoting literacy and the City of McAllen, those coordinating the event wish to solidify the fact that the library is a place where people and ideas can meet and connect.
