From an early morning 4K to one of the Rio Grande Valley’s most anticipated fireworks shows, there’s something happening all day long. Gather your family, wear your red, white, and blue, and come celebrate one of McAllen’s longest-running traditions.
🏃 Start the Day with the Independence 4K
Kick off your Fourth of July with an energetic start at the Independence 4K Run. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply enjoying a patriotic morning walk with family and friends, it’s a fun way to begin the celebration.
🇺🇸 Honor Our Nation at the Patriotic Program
Following the race, gather at the Archer Park Review Stand for the annual Patriotic Program beginning at 8:00 a.m.This heartfelt ceremony pays tribute to our country, our freedoms, and the men and women who have served to protect them.
🎺 Don’t Miss the Main Street Parade
One of McAllen’s most beloved traditions returns as the Main Street Parade steps off at 9:00 a.m. Watch colorful floats, marching bands, community organizations, classic vehicles, and patriotic displays make their way through downtown McAllen.
Bring your lawn chairs early to grab a great viewing spot and enjoy the festive atmosphere as thousands gather to celebrate together.
🎡 Family Fun at the Freedom Festival
After the parade, the celebration continues at Archer Park with the Freedom Festival from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Texas summers can be hot, so cool down at the McAllen Municipal Pool during the Aquatica Extravaganza from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission is just $2.50 per person, making it an affordable way for families to splash into the holiday fun.
🎆 End the Night with Concert in the Sky
As the sun sets, head to McAllen Municipal Park for the grand finale.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m., enjoy an evening of live entertainment before looking to the skies for the spectacular Concert in the Sky Fireworks Show, beginning around 9:00 p.m.
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite people as the night lights up with one of the Valley’s most anticipated Independence Day fireworks displays.
