The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is inviting students to unleash their creativity through science, technology, engineering, math and critical thinking. Using recycled products and their creativity, students and their families will be able to take on a challenge through an obstacle course. Sponsored by Creativity Garden, children will be able to partake in the Robot Tech Workshop and Engineering Challenge Workshop at IMAS starting on July 9th.

Robot Tech Workshop

Students aged 11 through 14 and their families will explore the world of coding as they learn how to program an EV3 robot and try their hands at completing the robot challenge course. Participants will actively engage in the key STEM areas of science, technology, engineering and math. This workshop will be open on July 9th and July 23rd from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM and Thursday, July 21st from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Engineering Challenge Workshop

Students aged 6 through 10 and their families are invited to join a hands-on engineering challenge using littleBits and recycled materials to create a unique invention. By accepting this challenge, participants will be using their critical thinking skills to invent a device to solve a particular problem. This workshop will be open on July 16th and July 30thfrom 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM and on July 14th, July 28th and July 30th again from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

What is littleBits?

littleBits is a platform of easy-to-use electric building blocks that empower inventing anything from your own remote-controlled car to a smart home device. No soldering, wiring or programming experience is needed. The Bits snap together using magnets.
