Sacred Heart Church

Sacred Heart Catholic church was built in 1913 by U.S. Army soldiers that were stationed in McAllen from New York state. Rebuilt twice, the church stands as a cornerstone of McAllen’s vibrant downtown area. It is now surrounded by a busy shopping and a bustling nightlife district. The church is still a working parish and attracts scores of tourists.
