Fun Activities for Ages 3 – 6

Monday – Wednesday

  • Amazing Art: Creative sessions for young artists to explore their imagination through various mediums.
  • Rec Sports: Introduction to basic sports skills in a fun and supportive environment.
  • Cheer: Learn basic cheers and routines to boost confidence and team spirit.

 

  • Dance: Introduction to different dance styles in a playful atmosphere.
  • Ballet: Introduction to classical ballet movements and positions for young aspiring dancers.

Fun Activities for Ages 7 – 13

Monday – Wednesday

  • Amazing Art: Engaging art classes focusing on developing creativity and artistic skills.
  • Rec Sports: Enhancing sportsmanship and teamwork through a variety of recreational sports.
  • Badminton: Introduction to the fundamentals of badminton, including rules and techniques.;

 

  • Pickleball: Fun and easy-to-learn paddle sport suitable for all skill levels.
  • Cheer: Advanced cheerleading techniques and routines for older participants.
  • Drama: Acting workshops to explore theatrical expression and storytelling.

 

Open Gym

 

The gym at Lark Community Center will be open all spring long! You can also enjoy:

  • Enjoy Pickleball and Volleyball (Monday – Friday, 12:30 PM – 3 PM)
  • Basketball and Volleyball            ( Saturday, 12 PM – 2 PM)

Engaging Activities for Ages 3 – 6

Monday & Wednesday

  • The Art of Ballet: Introduction to ballet techniques and movements in a nurturing environment.
  • Beginner Folkorico: Basic steps and rhythms of traditional Mexican folk dance for young learners.

 

Tuesday & Thursday

  • Dance Worx: Fun and energetic dance classes exploring various styles and movements.
  • Tumbling: Introduction to basic tumbling skills and exercises to improve coordination and flexibility.
  • Soccer Skills: Fundamental soccer drills and games to develop coordination and teamwork.
  • Explore Art: Creative art sessions focusing on exploration and self-expression through different mediums.

Engaging Activities for Ages 7 – 13

 

The gym will be open all spring, and table tennis will be available Tuesday (6 PM to 8 PM)  and Thursday (6 PM – 9PM). 

 

Monday & Wednesday

  • Beginner Folklorico: Intermediate steps and choreography of traditional Mexican folk dance.
  • Volleyball Skills: Introduction to volleyball techniques, including serving, passing, and spiking.
  • Youth Crochet: Basic crochet techniques and projects for young crafters to explore.
  • Intro to Table Tennis: Learn the basics of table tennis, including rules, techniques, and strategy.

 

Tuesday & Thursday

  • Dance Worx: Advanced dance classes focusing on refining skills and learning more complex choreography.
  • Soccer Skills: Intermediate soccer drills and games to enhance technique and teamwork.
  • Explore Art: Advanced art classes encouraging experimentation and personal artistic style development.

  • Soccer Skills: Fundamental soccer drills and games to develop coordination and teamwork.
  • Volleyball: Introduction to volleyball techniques such as serving, passing, and hitting.
  • Cheer and Tumbling: Cheerleading basics combined with tumbling exercises for coordination and flexibility.

Activities for Ages 7 – 13

Monday & Wednesday

  • Basketball: Advanced basketball drills and skills training to improve technique and game performance.
  • Chalk Attack: Creative outdoor art sessions using chalk to create vibrant masterpieces.
  • Dance: Intermediate dance classes focusing on skill refinement and learning more complex choreography.

 

Tuesday & Thursday

  • Intro to Painting: Basic painting techniques and projects to explore different mediums and styles.
  • Volleyball: Intermediate volleyball drills and games to enhance technique and teamwork.
  • Cheer and Tumbling: Advanced cheerleading techniques combined with tumbling exercises for agility and strength.

Aquatics

Open Gym

The Gym at Palm View is going to be open all spring for more fun things to do in McAllen, and will offer Pickleball (Monday 12:30 PM – 3 PM), Volleyball (Saturday 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM), and Basketball (12 PM – 2 PM).
