This weekend will be full of fun events that will have you exploring McAllen! Check out Grapes & Grains at Tres Lagos on Friday, enjoy the Sunset Live Outdoor Concert Series at the McAllen Convention Center’s Oval Park on Saturday, and end Sunday with the South Texas Book Festival at the McAllen Public Library. Friday, November 8^th

• National Weekend Adoption Event is scheduled at PetSmart each day this weekend from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
• Sip, mingle, and shop during Blooms & Bubbly at Southern Roots Market from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
• Enjoy live music, craft beer, wine, and food during Grapes & Grains! This event will be held at Tres Lagos from 6:30 PM until 10:00 PM. Tickets are available for $25 per person. Click here to purchase.
• The First Annual MasqueRAVE will be held at The Side Room from 10:00 PM until 2:00 AM.

Saturday, November 9^th

• In honor of our veterans, IMAS will host the Superhero 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk at Firemen’s Park at 7:30 AM. Click here to register online.
• Try Tai Chi at the McAllen Nature Center from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM. There is a suggested donation of $1 per person for general admission.
• Visit the Birding Our Backyard event at Quinta Mazatlán from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM. There is a general admission fee of $3 per person.
• Join the Veteran Ride at Desperado Harley-Davidson from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. There will be live music, food, drinks, and biker games for all participants. Register and meet at Mad Boar Harley-Davidson at 9:00 AM.
• Bring the whole family to the Spirit of South Texas: South Texas Book Festival Pep Rally at the McAllen Public Library from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. There will be tasty snacks, music, special guests, and more!
• Shop locally at the McAllen Farmers Market from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
• Design an experiment, build circuits, and learn about famous scientists during the Webelos Workshop: Adventures in Science at the IMAS from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. There is a workshop fee of $10 per participant. Click here to register.
• Join the Veteran Deadlift Party at Rise Above Gym beginning at 10:00 AM. Registration will be held at Rise Above Gym on the day of the party before the event begins.
• Join the Chip Monsters for a Creative Session: For Kids + Parents at Kaboom Comics from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. There is a registration fee of $8 per participant. Please register by visiting the Events Section on their Facebook Page and selecting “Going.”
• Calling all animal lovers! Stop by Quinta Mazatlán for their Creature Feature event from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. There is a general admission fee of $3 per person.
• Practice Yoga at the McAllen Farmers Market from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
• The Holly Jolly Extravaganza will be held at the Old Church Winery from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
• View fiber art from the museum collection, make a macramé wall hanging, work with natural dyes, and more during the Boy Scout Workshop: Textile at the IMAS. This workshop will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a fee of $10 per participant. Click here to register.
• Pop-Up & Little Market will be held at the La Costa Business Center from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Shop from local vendors, enjoy live music, and visit the complimentary braid bar by Little Thrills Salón.
• The Sunset Live Outdoor Concert Series is back at the McAllen Convention Center’s Oval Park. Dance along to some live music, shop locally at the artisan market, and enjoy tasty food from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
• Catch a live performance of the Spanish comedy show En Pareja Dos at the McAllen Performing Arts Center beginning at 9:00 PM. Tickets are available online through Ticketmaster. Click here to purchase.

Sunday, November 10^th

• Enjoy a bike ride with the Sun & Ski Sports Team during their Sunday Sapo Gravel Ride from 7:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Meet at their La Plaza Mall location and don’t forget your helmet and water bottle!
• The high-intensity functional workout “2FIT2QUIT” will be held at The Yard from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. There is a fee of $20 per person, which includes a $5 alcoholic beverage, the workout, and entrance to a raffle. To purchase tickets, call Osiel at 956-545-1285.
• Join the festivities at the annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing Holiday Dinner at the McAllen Convention Center from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. In addition to a holiday meal, you can enjoy music, arts and crafts, and kids’ activities.
• Celebrate culture and imagination at the South Texas Book Festival 2019. This event will be held at the McAllen Public Library from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
• Join Craft Cultura for Curando Heridas: A Community Plática on Latinx Mental Health at the IMAS from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM.
• Take advantage of the Free Family Sunday Funday at the IMAS from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
• Bring your little one for stories, signs, and playtime during Baby Storytime! This event will be held at the McAllen Public Library from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
• Enjoy live and local music at Sabrosonico held at The Yard from 5:00 PM until 1:00 AM.
• Join a staff member for a fun arts and crafts activity during Art in the Park. This event will be held at the McAllen Nature Center from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. There is a suggested donation fee of $1 per person.
