Galentine’s Day at the Market

Ladies, bring your friends for a girl’s day you won’t want to miss! The Southern Roots Flower Market is having Galentine’s Day at the Market from 12:00 PM until 5:30 PM. Enjoy complimentary mimosas, mini facials, and mini massages.

Beer Yoga at Brewsome Brewery

Beer Yoga at Brewsome Brewery is back! Get your ticket and enjoy an hour of vinyasa yoga, a locally brewed ale, and connect with the local yoga community. The fun starts at noon and tickets are available here.

Tai Chi in the Park  

Take part in the ancient martial arts, Tai Chi, and feel the effects on your balance, fitness, and flexibility. Tai chi in the Park happens every Saturday at 8:30 AM at the McAllen Nature Center.

McAllen Farmer’s Market

The McAllen Farmer’s Market is back at the McAllen Public Library. It provides consumers with locally grown produce, raw honey, a variety of baked goods, and handcrafted jewelry. The market will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

The McAllen International CarFest

This weekend, the McAllen International CarFest will be held at the McAllen Convention Center! Come see over 300 classic rides, hot rods, and custom cars. Adult tickets are $15, $12 for senior citizens and students ages 13 to 18, and kids under 12 enter free! Tickets are available at the convention center box office as well as online.

Food Park Karaoke Night 

Tonight, stop by the McAllen Food Park for Karaoke Night from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Enjoy dishes from a variety of food trucks. Plus, check out the selection of arts and crafts for sale from local vendors.

Saturday, January 25th

Birding Our Backyard

To all bird watchers and nature lovers! Enjoy this guided walk at the Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center! Come see amazing birds in their natural habitat during this tour from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for kids and senior citizens.

McAllen Farmers Market

The McAllen Farmers Market is back! Come by and shop for locally grown produce, handcrafted jewelry, and health and beauty products from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the McAllen Public Library.

Educator Open House

Educators of the Rio Grande Valley, you’re invited to the Educator Open House from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the IMAS. Learn about outreach programs, field trips, and museum exhibits. At 2:00 PM, guest speaker Dr. Bradley Warfield of UTRGV will be presenting “Why We’re Often So Bad at Talking to Each Other Online.”

Pokémon Go PVP Tournament

The McAllen Public Library and the McAllen Convention Center will be hosting the Fusion Cup where a player vs. player Pokémon tournament will start at 3:00 PM. This tournament is open to all ages and is free of charge. Come and show off your skills and prove you’re the best!

Drag Centennial

Drag Centennial will be at Cine El Rey from 9:00 PM until 2:00 AM. It’s the first drag queen show of the year featuring tons of live acts and special guests! Admission is $7 before 10:00 PM and $10 afterward.

Sunday, January 26th

Animal Sculptures Art Workshop

Discover the world of 3D art and sculpting techniques at the IMAS. Create one-of-a-kind animal figurines using air-dry clay. This workshop lasts from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM and is $10 per participant.

Drive-in Nights at the McAllen Convention Center

Experience movie-going the old-fashioned way at Drive-in Nights! Bring the family to the McAllen Convention Center where 80s classic Back to the Future will be screened! Admission is free and the movie starts at 7:30 PM.

Saturday, January 18th

The McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run 

Are you ready for #RunMcAllen? The McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run will begin at 7:00 AM with the Kids Final Mile, 5K, and 10K runs at the McAllen Convention Center.

The McAllen Marathon Health Expo 

The City of McAllen and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Health Expo on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM at the McAllen Convention Center. Admission is free and the expo will have health providers, clinics, medical suppliers, nutritionists, and much more!

The Webelos Workshop: Earth Rocks!

Become a geologist as you hunt for rocks, learn about the geographical features of the Rio Grande Valley, and test mineral hardness. The Webelos Workshop: Earth Rocks! will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the IMAS. Click here to register.

The Winter Texan Workshop at the IMAS

McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run

Day 2 of the McAllen Marathon kicks off at 7: 00 AM with the five-person relay marathon, the half marathon, and the full marathon. The McAllen Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, so good luck to all participants!

Daisy Girl Scouts: Space Science Explorer at the IMAS  

Girl scouts, put your spacesuits on and get ready to explore the Sun, Moon, and the stars! Learn how to use space tools to get a closer look at what’s in the sky. The Space Science Explorer workshop will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the IMAS. Click here to register.

It will have vendors from across South Texas showcasing bridal couture and presenting educational seminars for couples. The Saxet Gun Show at the McAllen Convention Center

The annual Saxet Gun Show is back at the McAllen Convention Center with one of the biggest selections of guns and outdoor products in South Texas! Shop from a variety of firearms, accessories, knives, tactical gear, hunting and target products, and much more. Tickets will be available at the convention center box office.
