Texas A&M AgriLife Extension supports a group of Volunteers called the Master Clothing Volunteers (MCVs).  These volunteers are train to teach clothing & textile classes throughout Hidalgo County.  They provide free sewing classes, every Tuesday at the Extension Office in Hidalgo County from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  In addition to teaching classes, they help the community by using their skills and serving their community.  This year they made 300 dog bandanas to Paws in the Park, 120 reading pillows to Edinburg Children’s Hospital, 10 handmade quilts to Uvalde survivors, and are planning a Veteran’s Community Service Project for Veteran’s day! One of the goals for the program is to become an entrepreneur and establish a business for their crafts.
